Panel Bending Brisbane

Overview

Panel bending is an important part of the fabrication process. At Metal Tech Industries we have expanded our metal bending capabilities by investing in a Salvagnini P2 panel bending machine.

The P2 is the ultimate sheet metal folding machine, natively combining productivity with its automatic bending and handling cycles. Its universal bending tools offer greater flexibility in handling a variety of metals. Equipped with an automatic blankholder, the P2 doesn’t require re-tooling and completes an average of 17 bends per minute. This equates to 3 times the output of a conventional Press Brake.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is brake pressing better?

Brake pressing refers to another form of bending metal, using a brake press. Though useful, they have a much slower output when compared to our P2 machine. Our panel bending offers faster and more consistent manufacturing across materials.

What types of products are made with panel bending?

Panel bending can be used to produce a variety of products such as furniture, appliances, industrial equipment and more. Panel bending is also often used in construction, this could be for supports in a house or walls and flooring for other projects such as elevators.

Are there downsides to panel bending?

Though incredibly useful, panel bending does have limitations. It is best used for thinner or softer metals and can struggle to bend harder metal. Likewise, though sheet metal bending can handle a variety of final designs ranging from simple to complex, overly complicated and detailed work will likely need additional processing with other methods.

Benefits of Panel Bending

Accuracy

Panel bending can more accurately shape plates, reducing wasted material. This can ensure consistency and save on processing costs.

Efficiency

With less cutting, welding and other manufacturing processes products can be completed faster. This means you can have a greater output without sacrificing quality.

Stability

Bending metal allows it to maintain its integrity, making the final product stronger. Stronger products provide greater long-term value for the initial costs.

How Panel Bending Works

Positioning

The machine is programmed with exact specifications to ensure all bending is accurate. The metal panel is then ideally positioned in the machine so that the process can begin.

Processing

The machine then begins bending the metal by applying pressure to specific areas to shape it and switching seamlessly between bending and shaping tools.

Inspection

Once completed our expert team assesses the final product to ensure it is completed to the highest standards before delivery.
